Report Harmful Content – website now available in Welsh

Harmful content can be anything online which causes a person distress or harm. Report Harmful Content is a national reporting centre, provided by the UK Safer Internet Centre and operated by SWGfL, which has been designed to assist everyone in reporting and removing harmful content online.

The Report Harmful Content website is now available in Welsh, however the helpline service operates through the medium of English.

The service provides advice to anyone who has come across harmful content online as well as support to anyone over the age of 13 who has already reported harmful content to industry and would like the outcome reviewed. Users will also be signposted to the right reporting routes for a large number of platforms.

The Report Harmful Content service aims to provide support (within 72 hours) specifically with the following eight types of harm:

  • Online Abuse
  • Bullying or Harassment
  • Threats
  • Impersonation
  • Unwanted Sexual Advances (Not image based)
  • Violent Content
  • Self-Harm or Suicide Content
  • Pornographic Content
