The Competition was open to any pupil attending Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern, Holyhead High School, Ysgol Uwchradd Llangefni, Ysgol David Hughes, Menai Bridge, or Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones, Amlwch.
Some themes were suggested for example, medicines, smoking, alcohol, drugs, health implications, addiction, crime, choice and consequence but pupils could also choose their own topic if they so wished.
Every participant was asked to write and perform their own scripts. Plays varied from 15 to 45 minutes in length. All the plays submitted were original; written, staged and performed by the pupils with the assistance of their tutors. Where several submissions were received the school ran internal competitions to select the one play they intended to submit for the final.
With selection complete the final competition took place at Holyhead High School on the evenings of February 5th and 6th.
It was presented as an evening of Youth Theatre. The donation from PACT was shared by the two finalist schools.
The 2 plays performed at the final were very contrasting plays. The Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern focused on anti social behaviour, peer pressure and drug use while Holyhead High Schools highlighted inherited familial alcohol misuse and domestic violence.
