Anti-social behaviour is any behaviour that you think is wrong, upsets someone or is against the law.
Remember
My friend says her cousin has a Civil Injunction. What is that all about?
Only some young people get a Civil Injunction. We give young people who are anti-social verbal warnings.
If it continues, warning letters are sent to parents.
Then, if your behaviour does not improve, the police will meet with you and your parents and draw up an ABC (Anti-social Behaviour Contract).
If you still fail to improve you will then be given a Civil Injunction.
If you break the rules of a Civil Injunction you can go to jail.
You might also have heard of ASBOs, Anti-Social Behaviour Orders, which were similar to Civil Injunctions.
Your school police officer will help you learn
Anyone over 10 can be given a Civil Injunction by the Courts. It is a very serious thing and will last for at least two years.
If you have a Civil Injunction there are rules about what you can and can’t do.
