General Info

2-DPMP is a very potent amphetamine-type stimulant that has been found in some Ivory Wave products. Although we can’t say for sure what is in any particular product sold as Ivory Wave, we do know that the effects reported are those of a strong stimulant, with similar effects to amphetamines (speed) and MDMA (ecstasy).

Effects

• 2-DPMP is a long-lasting drug, capable of causing severe agitation, which can last for several days after a single dose.
• Feelings of euphoria, alertness, talkativeness and feelings of empathy.
• Chest pains, anxiety, insomnia
• Severe agitation, hallucinations and paranoia.

Risks

• It can cause mood swings and feelings of anxiety, aggression and paranoia
• It can be toxic to the brain, causing overstimulation of the nervous system, with agitation and hallucinations, or causing fits
• It can cause overstimulation of the heart; and there are reports of altered blood pressure
• Potentially dangerous rises in body temperature have been noted and there may be a risk of kidney failure
• Hospitalisation after use.  As of October 2011, 3 deaths had been linked to the use of 2-DPMP.
